Fukushima Inari Shrine
Fukushima Inari Shrine is located in the heart of Fukushima City. It is the biggest shrine in Fukushima City and large crowds gather for several large festivals every year including the ‘oshogatsu’ New Year celebrations. This shrine is also famous for its rare variety of ‘omamori’ charms, including the ‘keibasho-mamori’ for good luck with horse racing, and the ‘momo-mamori’ for a good peach harvest. These are available from the main office across from the eastern entrance. The main Fukushima Inari Shrine Festival is held over the 3-day long weekend (including the 2nd Monday) in October. 23 large lantern-packed floats wind their way through the city center towards Fukushima Inari Shrine.
Check our Fukushima City Walking Tour guide for more information about the shrine and surrounding areas.
