Kuroiwa Kokuzoson
Kuroiwa Kokuzoson is located behind Manganji Temple on the Abukuma River south of the city center and dates back over 1,200 years. Manganji Temple is home to Dosho, a rivet less bell, which is a Nationally Designated Important Work of Fine Art of Fukushima City. Next to Kuroiwa Kokuzoson is a bronze bull statue called a ‘nade-ushi’ which is said to grant you wisdom if you pat its heads. Around the temple grounds including the upper rear garden is a collection of statues of The Sixteen Arhat.
