Kyu Horikiri-tei
A traditional residence that traces back to the 16th century, Kyu Horikiri-tei (Former Horikiri Residence) was once used by wealthy farmers and merchants. Visitors can explore the inner-workings of the Japanese-style home which was built in 1881, as well as survey the jukken-kura (storage house) with a history that stretches back to 1775. Visitors will also walk through the beautiful Japanese garden, and can even relax in the open air ashi-yu (foot bath) or te-yu (hand baths).
